Internal regulations
Preamble
These house rules are posted at each entrance to the property. A digital copy is available on the website. Anyone entering the Château de Scalibert grounds and the hotel premises is therefore deemed to have read and accepted these rules. A printed copy is available upon request upon arrival. A copy of these rules is placed in each guest room.
“The property”: Château de Scalibert SAS, the entity responsible for the premises and providing services, as well as its representatives (including its staff).
“Premises”: all areas comprising the hotel (guest rooms, common areas, staff areas).
“Common areas”: all areas accessible to any visitor, including the main entrance, the dining room and kitchen, the bar, the library/reception area, the elevator, the staircases, the access corridors, the terrace, and the grounds’ outdoor spaces.
“Visitor”: any person (passerby, hotel service provider, guest, staff, etc.) entering the premises.
“Guest”: any person who has booked a service with SAS Château de Scalibert and is received on the premises as such.
General organization
The premises are accessible by prior reservation, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The hotel may, at any time, require visitors to comply with certain specific measures (access restrictions, mask-wearing, etc.) for safety or health reasons, even in the absence of specific legislation mandating such measures. Visitors are expected to respect the premises and their furnishings (furniture, decorative elements, etc.) and to report any reprehensible acts (damage, vandalism, indecency, public indecency, etc.) to the hotel:

Use of the premises must be conducted in a manner that preserves their tranquility and does not disturb public order or public decency. This implies respecting the regulations and excludes any disruptive or offensive behavior. It is specifically forbidden to:
– Smoke or vape on the premises;
– Wear indecent clothing;
– Possess, use, or consume illegal or dangerous substances;
– Violate the rules of use indicated by the displayed pictograms, particularly those concerning the elevator;
– Leave waste outside of the bins;
– Demonstrate, run, shout, cause a disturbance, throw or drop objects, display banners, post signs, or engage in games, sports, or religious activities;
– Obstruct the premises by storing anything (bicycles, packages, suitcases, etc.). Any suspicious object (abandoned, chained to furniture, or of dubious origin) may, for security reasons, be impounded, or even damaged and destroyed, exclusively at the expense, risk, and peril of its owner.
– To behave disrespectfully, inappropriately, or indecently towards the staff or service providers of SAS Château de Scalibert.
Music:
The average sound level measured over a 15-minute period, limited to 105 decibels since 1998, must not exceed 102 decibels. The limit is set at 94 decibels for events hosting children aged six and under.
Common areas
Visitors in the common areas are expected to behave responsibly (not to use speakers, not to run, not to shout, not to instigate or participate in any fight or disturbance) and dress appropriately: in particular, it is forbidden to walk around shirtless or in a bathrobe.
The establishment reserves the right to refuse entry to any visitor accompanied by an animal that is clearly likely to disturb the peace and quiet of the premises, or that is dangerous and unmuzzled. Visitors present on the premises for professional reasons (particularly service providers) are required to behave discreetly so as not to disturb the peace and quiet of the premises and other guests. It is strictly forbidden for any unauthorized visitor to access areas of the premises reserved for staff (closed doors or those marked “Staff Only” or “Private,” etc.).
Camera
The common areas of the house and the outdoor spaces are under video surveillance for the safety of people and property.
The images recorded by this system are not used for staff monitoring or timekeeping.
The legal basis for this processing is legitimate interest (see Article 6.1.f of the European General Data Protection Regulation).
Data and categories of persons concerned:
Employees and clients of SAS CHATEAU DE SCALIBERT are filmed by the system only in the areas mentioned. Occasional visitors to the company premises may also be filmed.
In the event of an incident, the images may be viewed by the management of SAS CHATEAU DE SCALIBERT and by law enforcement. Company personnel responsible for equipment maintenance may also access the images, for this purpose only.
Retention period:
The images are kept for one month.
In the event of an incident related to the safety of people and property, CCTV footage may be extracted from the system. It is then stored on another medium while the procedures related to the incident are being resolved and is accessible only to authorized personnel.
Rights of individuals:
You can access your personal data or request its deletion. You also have the right to object to and restrict the processing of your data (see cnil.fr for more information on your rights).

If, after contacting us, you believe that your data protection rights have not been respected or that the video system does not comply with data protection regulations,
you can file a complaint online with the CNIL (French Data Protection Authority) or by mail.
Theoretical maximum number of employees
The maximum indoor capacity of the house is 133 people, including staff, broken down as follows:
Ground floor:
– Dining room: maximum 23 people (meaning 110 people distributed throughout the rest of the house)
– Reception rooms/lounges: maximum 133 people (meaning no other staff elsewhere in the house).
First floor: maximum 8 people (meaning 125 people distributed throughout the other areas of the house).
Second floor: 20 people (meaning 113 people distributed throughout the other areas of the house).
Rooms available
The rental period begins at 2:00 PM and ends at 11:00 AM. If you wish to keep the room for an additional night, payment of the posted room rate must be made before 11:00 AM, subject to availability. Late check-out is possible, subject to availability and upon reservation on the website www.chateaudescalibert.com.
Any luggage left in a room after 11:00 AM without a renewal of the rental will be removed and stored in accordance with applicable laws and procedures. Guests of our clients are not permitted to stay overnight without having made a reservation and registered, as provided through the Château de Scalbert website or with the staff/management, and subject to a supplement for shared rooms.
For private rentals of the property, the rental period begins at the time agreed upon and formalized in the rental agreement signed by both parties.
Animals
To ensure the peace and quiet of our guests, we cannot accommodate your pets.
Access to the room
Your room key is assigned to you personally; please notify us immediately of any loss or disappearance. Please ensure your room door is securely closed before leaving your room or going to sleep. Room access must be available between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at least once so that staff can clean the rooms or address any technical or security issues.
Elevator
Users of the elevator are required to respect the maximum weight capacities indicated on the equipment. They must also behave responsibly (giving priority to people unable to use the stairs, not jumping, etc.). They are prohibited from causing any damage whatsoever. Any repairs or restoration will be charged to the offenders whose behavior has caused damage.
Responsibility
You must report any anomalies or damage upon arrival in your room so that we can rectify them. Otherwise, any damage noted by hotel staff upon your departure will be charged to you. In addition, you will be charged for one extra night (the time required for repairs).
Anyone violating these regulations may be asked to leave the premises without being entitled to any compensation. Items found by Château de Scalibert SAS staff will be, if their size allows, stored securely for a period of three (3) years in accordance with the law. These items will be returned upon the Visitor’s first request. However, Château de Scalibert SAS reserves the right to request any document necessary to confirm ownership of the item or guarantee its return to its owner (invoice, identification of the person authorized to collect the item, etc.). If applicable, the costs and risks of shipping will be borne entirely by the Visitor.
Fire Safety
In accordance with fire safety regulations, the following are permitted in the same room:
– Zoé’s Bridal Suite: 4 people
– Josephine Family Suite – 7 people, distributed as follows: Duo Room: 2 people – Colo Room: 5 people
– Signares Deluxe Room: 3 people
– Feyrouz Deluxe Room: 3 people
– Sophia, Tomoe, Theresa, and Frida Rooms: 2 people per room.
The entrance to the property and the entrance to the house must remain accessible to fire department vehicles in case of emergency.
Emergency lighting: The house is equipped with self-contained green emergency lighting units indicating the route to the emergency exit.
Alarm system: The manual fire alarm triggers (red and white box located inside the house according to the plans) should only be activated in case of fire. The house must then be evacuated immediately, following the designated evacuation route. The fire department will be called by the house staff or management. The assembly point will be on the east-facing terrace.
In the event of an alarm activation, the guest agrees to follow the evacuation instructions posted within the property and those given by the house staff or management.
In the event of a false alarm activation, management reserves the right to terminate the guest’s stay.
Proof of identity
Based on the hotel’s legitimate interest in ensuring the safety of property and people and/or in order to prevent any incident related to identity theft, we require all guests staying at our hotel to provide proof of identity, such as:
– National or foreign identity card,
– French or foreign passport.
Minors
Children and minors are welcome in our house. They remain under the sole responsibility of the accompanying adult for the entire duration of their stay on the property and within the house.
Minors unaccompanied by a person with parental authority must present identification and a signed authorization/release of liability signed by the person with parental authority. Otherwise, the minor will not be admitted. Accompanied minors
remain under the responsibility of their parents.
Delivery
The house is not responsible for any letters or packages that may be sent to you during your stay. You must make your own arrangements to ensure you receive them directly.
Parking
A parking lot is available free of charge to guests of SAS Château de Scalibert. This parking lot is not supervised. SAS Château de Scalibert cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to vehicles parked in this lot.
Any damage caused to the fences or the access gate will be billed to the person responsible for the incident.
Parking on the lawns is strictly prohibited.
A designated parking space is available for people with reduced mobility in front of the house. Please do not hesitate to contact us if needed.
Internet network usage
Our house offers Wi-Fi access, allowing you to connect to the internet. You agree not to use the computer resources made available to you in any way for the reproduction, representation, distribution, or communication to the public of works or objects protected by copyright or related rights, such as texts, images, photographs, musical works, audiovisual works, software, and video games, without the authorization of the rights holders when such authorization is required.
You are required to comply with the security policy of our internet service provider, including the rules for using the security measures implemented to prevent the unlawful use of computer resources, and to refrain from any action that compromises the effectiveness of these measures. Failure to do so may result in prosecution for copyright infringement, punishable by a fine of €300,000 and three years’ imprisonment.
Specific provision regarding the privatization of the house:
Room Availability:
Under specific arrangements agreed upon in advance, the rental period begins at the time specified in the rental agreement signed by both parties.
Noise Disturbances:
Music is not permitted outdoors after 10:00 PM and must cease by midnight inside the house. Please respect the noise level limits set by Article R1336-6 of the French Public Health Code. Failure to comply with these rules will result in the music being turned off.
Users of the ground floor rooms are asked to avoid any noise disturbance outside the room out of respect for our neighbors.
Parents are advised to ensure that young children wear appropriate headphones.
Occupancy:
See the section on maximum theoretical occupancy.
Under no circumstances should furniture be removed from the house without the express permission of management;
Likewise, plants must not be moved. All electrical equipment requiring charging must be pre-charged before being set up on the premises. Failure to comply may result in an additional charge.
Use of Equipment Provided:
The client is responsible for maintaining the equipment provided. Any damage observed must be reported upon arrival at the property. Damage to this equipment will be billed at the actual cost of repair or replacement, if necessary.
It is strictly forbidden to climb on the tables and/or chairs. Any cleaning or breakage will be charged in addition to the price for the private use of the venue.
In the event of an artistic performance inside the building (e.g., a DJ), the client agrees not to use any smoke-producing devices or accessories.
For celebrations with more than 20 people, the use of a licensed professional caterer is optional but mandatory. Waste and bottles must be sorted (two 100L bins and a glass recycling container are provided) and removed upon departure. The nearest waste disposal point is in the Saint-Paul Cap de Joux town square.
Only cleaning products compatible with septic tanks are permitted (these are provided). Bleach and cooking oil should not be poured down the drains.
It is strictly forbidden to exceed the maximum power rating on the power strips (for both the caterer and the DJ), if used, to avoid any risk of electrical overload.
Only the caterer is authorized to plug in their truck. Guests are not permitted to charge their electric vehicles on the premises.
Restrooms:
– Do NOT flush ANYTHING other than toilet paper down the toilet bowl to avoid damaging the pumps at the wastewater treatment plant (located under the meadow):
no wipes, paper towels, sanitary pads, tampons, etc. Bins are provided for these items.
– Toilet paper and sponge pads are available for your use.
