Entirely renovated to accommodate your family celebrations, your weekends with friends, your professional seminars, the Château team also offers you, according to the seasons and its inspiration, various events around a simple concept: "head, body, and heart."
Interior spaces
Designed as a true family home, with its living, sharing and celebration spaces, but also its more intimate refuges conducive to reading or dreaming, each room will reveal a part of the soul of the castle with its inspiring works of art, its locally found objects and its souvenirs of distant travels. You will be able to enjoy a warm professional open kitchen, several lounges, a historic reception room, and for more playful moments, a billiard room and a magnificent piano inviting you to the melody.

The Château de Scalibert estate is nestled in the heart of the Tarn region, nestled in its rich and unspoiled natural setting. It covers 17 hectares, boasting vast wooded areas and lush gardens. A place of absolute calm, it offers a true haven for you to recharge your batteries. The magnificent neo-Gothic chapel is also a place of serenity. The outdoor spaces offer a wide range of possibilities for your private ceremonies, team-building activities, or simply moments of pure relaxation with your loved one, family, or friends.

The History of the Castle
Scalibert Castle is a place of memory and transformation, deeply rooted in the history of the Tarn. Its name comes from a small stream that flows into the Agout in the valley on which it is built.
The exact date of its first construction is not known. The first documented traces date back to the end of the 16th century, a period during which Scalibert was probably destroyed during the religious conflicts between Catholics and Protestants.
Its "known" history begins in 1744, a date engraved at the entrance to the castle and which corresponds to the time of its reconstruction. It is from this period that the large stone staircase, decorated with a wrought iron railing, testifying to the craftsmanship of the time, and the addition of a first floor date.
The Age of Great Transformations
At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, Scalibert underwent major transformations under the leadership of Madame Charlotte Zoé Prud’homme de Saint-Maur, Baroness of Clauzade de Scalibert. A visionary and enterprising woman, she left a deep mark on the identity of the place with:
- Around 1850, a second floor was added to the main building, and all the outbuildings were built: stables, cowsheds, workshops, and an orangery.
- Then in 1905, the construction of the magnificent Neo-Gothic Chapel adjoining the castle.
The Baroness' influence extends even beyond the castle with:
- The bridge that connects Teyssode, where the castle is located, to Saint-Paul-Cap-de-Joux, creating a long promenade immortalized on old postcards.

She died in her castle on May 17, 1907. Her descendants succeeded one another there for eight generations, until its first sale in 1965.
A new feminine impulse”
From the 1980s onwards, the château was uninhabited for many years. Then, on 27 December 2019, the Château de Scalibert took on a new life. That day, an unexpected encounter, a true "love at first sight" for Sabine, the current owner, for this place steeped in history. Five years of intense renovation followed, carried out with the invaluable support of her friends and family, transforming Scalibert into a welcoming "home", which is now open to you, to celebrate life and write new stories.

Un immense merci à notre hôte pour cette parenthèse hors du temps … More dans un lieu tout simplement exceptionnel. Le château, entièrement rénové avec goût, marie à la perfection authenticité et modernité. Chaque recoin respire la passion et le soin du détail.
Nous avons eu la chance de vivre une expérience immersive et harmonieuse : repas gastronomique, dégustation de vin, activités sportives, cours de chant, atelier de poésie… sans oublier la préparation des repas, orchestrée avec bienveillance par un chef passionné. Chaque moment était pensé avec intelligence et sensibilité.
Tout cela sous la conduite inspirante de la propriétaire, Sabine, qui anime ce lieu avec élégance, générosité et une vision claire de ce qu’elle veut offrir : bien plus qu’un séjour, une expérience humaine et sensorielle inoubliable.

Quel château ! Magnifiquement restauré avec soin et goût et où la … More propriétaire a su donner une/son âme au lieu. Au croisement de la modernité et de la préservation du patrimoine, Scalibert est un petit paradis plein de délicatesse, un vrai château de famille. Ellis Alliance y a effectué son séminaire début juin : un lieu totalement privatisé propice aux réflexions partagées loin du brouhaha de la ville. La maîtresse du lieu, Sabine, sait l’importance de la réactivité dans le cadre de ces journées pour satisfaire les participants. Elle a su faire des propositions intéressantes et variées pour animer notre séjour : chef étoilé, visites de sites et autres activités. Elle est aux petits soins pour ses hôtes et convives. Enfin, toutes les chambres sont spacieuses, confortables et basées sur des thématiques de voyages et lieux lointains qui donnent une coloration différente à chaque porte poussée.
Un peu de magie et de sérénité entre Castre et Toulouse pour tous ceux qui veulent prendre leur temps et du recul.

J’ai pu participer à un séminaire et découvrir ce château très récemment … More restauré. Le cadre est incroyable, très confortable et accueillant. Le programme était très varié et adapté pour se sentir bien. Et l’escapade au marché de Lavaur un vrai régal des sens!
