The Frida Room…Frida’s room in Cuba…what an idea…since Frida apparently never had the chance to stay in Cuba…so?…it was another one of our trips…where time stands still, the mind completely captivated by this blend of colors, this joy of life in the streets that hum with Salsa or Rumba…a drink in hand…among the gleaming cars of the 50s, as we wandered through the colorful streets of Havana, we met a young artist who was painting Frida’s face…herself scarred in body, she was animated by this astonishing strength, this fight for life and creation. It is in homage to these two resilient women that this room came into being. We still remember her gaze awaiting our reactions to her works. A moving moment.
